Today will be dedicated to the city of Bishkek.

We will have lunch in a local park in the city center and will dedicate some of our time to help clean up the park. After our picnic, we will take 2-2.5 hours to get acquainted to the city, its architecture and history in city tour.
We will then go to visit a nursing home in Bishkek, bringing some items (food, clothes or other items) to the elderly residents that we have bought this morning in the local market. You will have some time to chat with the people at the nursing home.
Tonight, we will be having dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay at the first hotel.
In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast at your hotel, after which we will depart from the city of Bishkek and drive in our minibus to a village near the city of Tokmok.
Before our lunch, we will join a local family to help them prepare the meal. You will learn to make national dishes together, that you will enjoy together with the family for lunch.
Today, we will also visit a local school to distribute some school supplies to the students. We will buy these supplies a day in advance or today on the drive there. (Please note: we can visit the school only if the tour takes place in September).
After our school visit, we will make our way to Chon-Kemin gorge. Along the way, we stop at the Burana tower. This battlement was built in the ancient city of Balasagun at the peak of the development of the Great Silk Road. One of the capitals of the Karakhanid state, which existed in the X-XII centuries. We will also see the tombstones of Balbala.
After our arrival to Chon-Kemin village, we will be staying at a local guest house, after accommodation in a local guest house, we will hold English lessons or a talking club for local residents of this village.
After breakfast, departure to the city of Karakol along the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. On the way, we will take some time to discover the so-called "Stone Garden" or petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata. This is an open-air temple left by the Scythians and Huns, dating from the 9th and 8th centuries BC and the 3rd and 4th centuries AD.
We will then drive to the Grigorievskoe gorge (Chon Ak-Suu 2200m above sea level) where we will walk along the beautiful river, up to 2 km (height difference +150 -150m). Our lunch today will be lunch boxes in nature.
When we get to Karakol, we will check into your hotel and have dinner at a local cafe. You will have some free time this evening to discover the city at our leisure.
On this day, early in the morning before breakfast, we will go to the cattle market of the city of Karakol (about 5am).
At the livestock market, we will see how locals from nearby villages gather to sell their livestock or buy them.
Also in this market we will buy a small lamb (which costs about 80-100 euros, not included) to give to a local farming family later today. We will return to the hotel to have breakfast.
After breakfast, we will drive to the countryside to visit the farmer's house and participate in their daily farming activities. We will help them with feeding their livestock and daily other chores so you will get to experience the rural farming life.
Lunch will be enjoyed with the family and we will help them in preparing one of the national dishes. Then we return to the city of Karakol to have dinner and spend the night. Dinner this evening will be in one of the national cafes or restaurants.
After breakfast we will go on a tour of Karakol that includes a visit to the Dungan mosque, a unique Chinese-style building used for worship by Muslims, an old Russian Orthodox church - the "Holy Trinity Cathedral" that is made of wood and the local ethnographic museum.
We will then exit the city to go to the Jeti Oguz gorge (30 km to the side). Jeti Oguz translated from the Kyrgyz language means "Seven Bulls". This picturesque canyon got its name due to its reddish sandy formations covered with coniferous forests of the Tien Shan. Walking through the gorge you will see the most famous rocks "Broken Heart" and "Seven Bulls". We will have a picnic lunch in the gorge.
We will then make a stop at the Skazka canyon for short walks, up to 5km, +150m-150m. The canyon consists of multi-colored petrified clay, which offers a very interesting view of the lake in the background.
After the gorge, we will travel to the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, which is famous for the fact that in the village a lot of families are engaged in the manufacturing of yurts. We will be staying with a local family this evening and help them to prepare dinner. As a lovely gesture on our part, we will also invite a few elderly residents of this village to dine with us. Overnight stay at the guest house.
We will have our breakfast at the guest house.
After breakfast, you will get to see how felt products are made and learn all about this national tradition. We will help out making some felt products ourselves that are meant to cover and decorate yurts.
After lunch, we will participate in manufacturing the frame and some materials for an actual yurt - a traditional nomad's house. We help to install one of the yurts, which is a very unique activity. You will experience the convenience of using yurts as houses and find out how they are made without using a single nail.
Then in the evening, we will have English conversations with the villagers so that we all benefit from this cultural and language exchange and have fun together.
Dinner will be at a local guest house.
Breakfast
Then we will go to the Boom Gorge in order to walk in the Kok-Moinok canyon, where you will see red sandy rocks that were formed as a result of wind and rain. We will walk along the small streets of red canyons.
Our next drive takes us to the village of Kochkor, where we will watch a folklore show performed by a local music group. You will see traditional dances and songs and learn about their meaning (Illustrated photo).
After the performance, we will help the hosts of the local family with their cooking and will have our dinner together with the musicians to thank them for their wonderful performance.
Dinner and overnight at the guest house.
Today, after breakfast, we will drive direct to Son-Kul lake without long stops along the way, so we can spend more time in Son-Kul. We will continue our journey to Son-Kul lake through the Kalmak Ashuu pass (3436 m above sea level).
Son-Kul is a lake, which is located at an altitude of 3016 meters. Here you can move away from civilization, because there is neither the Internet nor mobile communications. Here in the summer, local people lead a semi-nomadic lifestyle and live only in yurts. After arrival, we will have lunch at the yurt camp where we will also spend the night.
In order to help preserve the beauty our surroundings, we will have the opportunity to collect garbage on the shore of Son-Kul Lake, or near the yurt camp. We will collect any trash we find to keep the environment of the lake clean, because many rare birds from the south come to the lake in summer.
Overnight stay and dinner will be at the yurt camp.
We will have our breakfast at the yurt camp this morning, after which we will depart through 33 parrot pass to go back to Bishkek city.
Parrot pass is considered one of the most picturesque in the country. At parrot pass, you can make a very easy hike to Naryn waterfall.
